The following is the By-Laws for Dark Knight Legion, they are not set in stone and may be changed as needed.

1. Primary Objective: The first and foremost rule of this unit is to have fun. It is only a game and the founder/senior members realize that people do have real lives (R/L) and expect that  members put their family and education in front of the units needs.

2. Ranking: There is a ranking structure in this unit. The ranking is kept to a minimum (i.e...no generals, majors, sergeants, etc). The ranking follows this format: Unit Founder, Senior Members, Members. The Unit Founder has the authority to make decisions regarding all unit functions. The Senior Members have the authority to make emergency decisions in the Unit Founders absence, to settle disputes between unit members, recruiting and dismissals. Members are the backbone of this unit, without members this unit has no purpose. Members have the authority to request that a outside person be recruited, call for a vote to change any unit functions or activities, just about anything that they want to do.

3. Recruiting: Persons wishing to join DKL should contact any member of the unit. A discussion will be held with as many DKL members as  possible. There is a two week probation period but no trial of entrance (TOE). New recruits ARE NOT PERMITTED to wear the DKL~ tags until this evaluation period is over. All members are required to wear the unit tags in front of their name (i.e. DKL~xxxx) once accepted

3.a. Wearing of Unit Tags and use of the Faction: All members (unless approved by the Unit Founder or the Senior Members) will wear the unit tags in the following format: DKL~xxxxxxx   (xxxxxxx = your game name). You may put whatever you want in the Faction area, but, if it is the unit name, it will be spelled correctly and used in the following format: Dark Knight Legion.

3.b. Age: All new recruits MUST be at least 18 years of age. Exceptions are children of established members and that member will be held accountable for their actions.

4. Voice Comms: This unit uses Ventrilo version 3.0.4 for voice comms. All members must have this installed.

5. MSN Messenger: Most members use Microsoft MSN Messenger. Although not required, it does make it easier to exchange file between members.

6. Freedom of speech: All members will have freedom of speech to voice there ideas, feelings, etc., without fear of dismissal or punitive actions (providing that the language is not vulgar, racist, or making accusations without proof)..

7. Personal Conduct: When in everyday game play,  have respect for other players.  Use common sense in this area. If you have been seen using bad conduct, you may be disciplined,  whether you are a new member or veteran. Represent the unit well.

8. Cheating/Hacking: This unit has a zero tolerance for the use of cheats/hacks. Any unit member that is caught with undeniable proof of cheating or hacking will be removed from the unit roster, no exceptions.

9. Dual Unit Memberships: No member of the Dark Knight Legion may be a active member of  another unit with out express consent from the Unit Founder or by a majority vote from the Senior Members. Any member found to be active in another unit without permission will be dismissed immediately.

10. Unit Forums: This unit has forums setup for member and guest use. ALL DKL MEMBERS are expected to check the forums at least once daily if possible for unit updates, messages, news..etc.

11. Inactivity: Members may be removed from the unit roster for inactivity, any member not active in the forums/comms for 30 days or more will receive an email from the founder or a senior member. If no response is received within 72 hours, that member will be marked for removal. If no response is received after 14 days, that member will be removed from the unit roster.
